Underground Crypto Mining Farm Raided in St. Petersburg Amid Rising Scams

Russian authorities have dismantled an illegal cryptocurrency mining operation in St. Petersburg, seizing multiple mining rigs from a warehouse near Mitrofanievsky Highway. The facility, which spanned several hundred square meters, was found unmanned during the raid. Power experts estimate the operation caused $127,873 in damages to local grids through unauthorized electricity use.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs released footage showing rows of active mining equipment and tampered electrical meters. A manhunt is underway for the operators. This crackdown coincides with warnings from Russian officials about a surge in crypto trading scams targeting investors.
